The YWCA Empowerment Center works hard to serve our community by providing housing support, financial assistance, and case management services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
We strongly believe in addressing housing needs with supportive advocacy and case management services, while collaborating with community partners to assist those experiencing housing needs in gaining economic self-sufficiency. Our philosophy is to identity barriers to permanent housing and to provide case management to ensure community members can maintain long-term economic and housing stability.
The YWCA Clinton Empowerment Center serves as the Coordinated Entry Access point for Clinton and Jackson Counties. All community members in need access services through our intake coordinator. We help those in need access the services and eliminate redundancies, delays, or gaps in services. Clients are provided individualized services, addressing any needs and barriers they encounter as they move toward self-sufficiency. We are a vital hub in our community as we work to combat homelessness in our area.

Emergency Shelter
With limited funding, this short-term program is able to provide short term emergency shelter. With the help of a case manager, clients can develop a housing plan and seek a permanent housing solution.
Homelessness Prevention
If you are at risk of losing your housing within 14 days, we want to help you stay in your home. With this program, we are able to assist with utility and rental arrears for those who meet the income limit guidelines.
Rapid Rehousing
This is a short-term rental assistance and case management program designed to assist in maintaining safe, affordable permanent housing for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
Permanent Supportive Housing
This program is an intervention that combines affordable housing assistance with voluntary support services to address the needs of anyone experiencing chronic homelessness. The services are designed to build independent living and tenancy skills, and connect clients with community-based health care, treatment, and employment services.
Sole Purpose
In partnership with Clinton's Shoe Sensation, we are able to provide shoes and socks to those in need with a referral from a school, doctor, therapist, or other supportive agencies. The Sole Purpose Program has provided more than 121 brand new pairs of shoes to those in need since 2021.
Crochet for Kids
In partnership with FCI Thomson, we collect donations of yarn and plastic crochet hooks and inmates crochet toys and blankets then we then give back to families in need.
