Water Recovery is a specialized aquatic class designed by a physical therapist, led by an instructor and perfected by you. Whether you are managing chronic pain or coming back from surgery or injury, the water provides a low-impact, weightless environment to help you heal. You take the lead and progress at your own pace while we provide the support you need to get there. This class is not part of a YWCA Clinton Membership.*

How Above + Beyond Cancer Works

Above + Beyond Cancer at YWCA Clinton is offered to members of the community that have been affected by cancer at any stage after diagnosis. Additionally, YWCA Clinton has begun offering our Above + Beyond Cancer program to not only cancer survivors but to individuals with other chronic diseases such as Parkinson’s, Diabetes, Dementia, Obesity, etc. as well as to caregivers of individuals with chronic diseases.

A medical referral is required by having a medical professional fill out the form below entitled, “Do You Want to Be Part Of This Program” and faxing the form to the HIPAA protected website, at 515-635-1286.

Upon receiving the referral, the client will be given a 3-month scholarship to YWCA Clinton. A time will be set up with the client for an assessment with one of our certified cancer exercise trainers to help us understand the client’s goals, fitness level, limitations in mobility or range of motion, medications taken and any other health issues before beginning an exercise program with us.

Recovery + Beyond, our group training session, is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8am for one hour but if the client/trainer decide that the group training will not work due to schedule or due to physical limitations, one-on-one sessions are available as well.  **Please note that we are on an altered schedule until further notice. We will meet once weekly on Tuesday at 10am.
